Exodus 7-9, ESV
1. 2 You shall speak all that I command you, and your brother Aaron shall tell Pharaoh to let the people of Israel go out of his land. 3 But I will _________, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, 4 Pharaoh will not listen to you.
a. put a curse on Pharaoh's mind so that he cannot recognize me
b. harden Pharaoh's heart
c. cause Pharaoh to believe he is better off to keep the Israelites as workers in the midst of plagues
2. 3 But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, 4 Pharaoh will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and bring my hosts, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of ________.
3. 15 For by now I could have put out my hand and struck you and your people with pestilence, and you would have been cut off from the earth. 16 But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that __________.
a. my name may be proclaimed in all the earth
b. everyone who does not believe me will know they will have to suffer punishment
c. your magicians will realize they didn't know everything, after all.
4. 29 Moses said to him, "As soon as I have gone out of the city, I will stretch out my hands to the Lord. The thunder will cease, and there will be no more hail, so that you may know that the earth is the Lord's. 30 But as for you and your servants, I know that you __________."
a. do not care that I am able to do this for you
b. give no thought to prayer
c. do not yet fear the Lord God
